Resident Fellow in Charlottesville, Virginia, in June

In June, I will be back at the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities in Charlottesville as a resident Fellow. I plan to continue the research for my upcoming book, An Enslaved Woman and her Dressmaker Daughter. Working with the curator at the Valentine Museum in Richmond, I hope to identify costumes fashioned with fabrics similar to those used in the quilts made by Elizabeth Bolden, daughter of enslaved Ann Crawford.
